Moto Z2 Play: everything we know before its official announcement

If the rumors are confirmed, the mobile division of Lenovo will grow with new models coming soon and one of the fronts that have open is the Moto Z2 Play. It’s no secret that the company is working on a new generation of its Z line and the ‘Play’ variant would also have a sequel this year.

Moto Z2 Play

Moto Z2 Play will continue the legacy of the first model by betting on a more modest technical profile than the flagship of the brand, but retaining a more advanced status than the G series. The Moto Z2 Play is expected to be presented this week, We make a review of all the characteristics that we know until now.

More memory, but less battery

The Moto Z2 Play has been giving the talk for some weeks. His last appearance has been in the form of images that show what his box of sale would be, and that confirms some of the characteristics that had leaked days ago.

One of the changes that will undergo this new edition is that the battery will be smaller than in its predecessor. If the Moto Z Play had a battery of 3.510 mAh, the new model would stay at 3,000 mAh, a change that certainly will not improve the autonomy. Of course, will have the TurboPower fast mode.

However, we know that the processor will be the Snapdragon 626, the successor of Snapdragon 625 of the first model and stands out above all for its excellent energy efficiency, so we hope that autonomy remains a highlight of this model. Where there is an increase is in memory, which passes to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable capacity with MicroSD.

In the case of the screen, Lenovo is still betting on a panel of 5.5 inches with FullHD resolution, what we do not know is whether it will be AMOLED or bet on another technology. On the front, under the screen, has integrated the fingerprint reader with an oval shape that we know the Moto G5.

In the section of the camera, the Moto Z2 Play would have a 12-megapixel sensor with dual pixel focus, a configuration similar to the one we saw in the Moto G5 Plus, although improved with the introduction of the laser focusing system.

Finally, note that the Moto Z2 Play will continue to be compatible with Moto Mods and it is possible that Lenovo announces new models at the presentation event, scheduled for next Thursday, June 1. We leave you with a table with the preliminary specifications of the Moto Z2 Play.
