As you may have already captured, Google’s smartwatch operating system – Android Wear – has been renamed Wear OS.
The reason for the change was, according to Google, to prepare for the diverse future of smartwatches. All the latest smartwatches should now have a Wear OS update.
Pixel smartwatch with Qualcomm chip
Based on Twitter’s well-known Evan Blass, we know we can expect the new Pixel smartwatch running on Wear OS that Blass has named “Google Smart Watches.”
Besides the Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, and second-gen Pixel Buds, a reliable source tells me — with high confidence — that Google’s fall hardware event will also introduce a Pixel-branded watch. Have a great summer!

The new models are not yet detailed, but we know they should be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chip.
Watches with Wear OS will no longer need smartphones for their running, they will work independently. Their primary names are “Ling”, “Triton” and “Sardine” – names related to marine life, which is known to Google.
Also, we do not know the date on which Pixel smartwatches should be introduced, but we know that Google is already working on the project. So we can just guess – can we see them at the end of the year?
